Supervised sessions
If you have recently been attending lessons or are simply new to playing duplicate bridge, playing in one of our Supervised sessions once or twice per week is highly recommended as the quickest way to improve.
These are the sessions where you can practise your bidding and card play and also learn some of the basics of bridge etiquette.
Supervised sessions
Once you have some basic understanding of bridge bidding and card play, Supervised playing sessions are a great way to get started. In this setting you can practise bidding (with access to bridge notes) and card play. It allows you to improve your skills at a relaxed pace under the guidance of the Supervisor. This is a good opportunity to meet people of the same standard and find a partner.
You and your partner will stay together during the session and play against different pairs after each round of hands. You can come on your own and we will organise a partner for you. Registration is not required but please arrive 15 minutes before the start time.
Sessions cost $10.00 for Members and $12.00 for Non-Members.
Games are held weekly at the times listed below except on public holidays and during WABC Congresses.
Monday 12:30pm-3:15pm Jane Henderson
Wednesday 7:15pm-9:30pm Jodie Basham
Thursday 9.30am-11.45am (Supervised play on set topic) Jane Henderson
Friday 9:00am-9:30am (Lesson) Jodie Basham
9:30am-12:15pm (Supervised Session) Jodie Basham
The Thursday Supervised Session includes set hands on a particular topic used as basis for bridge discussions and problem solving with the Supervisors.
The Friday Supervised Session is preceded by a half hour refresher lesson on bidding and card play. Refresher topics are listed monthly under ‘What’s Coming Up’ on the Home Page. Please note this free lesson is optional, beginning at 9am and followed by the regular Supervised Session at 9.30am.
