Andy’s Spingold run ends at the semifinals

The Hans Team (Sartaj Hans - Andy Hung and Nabil Edgtton - Michael Whibley) had an excellent run in the Spingold. The Spingold is a knock-out team event that attracts the top contract bridge players in the world. The event typically lasts seven days with a 64 board match (4 quarters x 16 boards) each day and is held at the summer American Contract Bridge League (ACBL) North American Bridge Championship (NABC). This year’s event is in Chicago.

There were few upsets in Andy's side of the draw. The #2 seeds were knocked out by the #31 seeds who were then knocked out by Hans (originally seeded #23) two matches later. The #3 seeds also lost early. The semifinal between #23 Hans and #14 Bremark and won by Bremark 122-87.

The other side of the draw saw #4 Fleisher beating #1 Zimmerman in the semi final 177-75.

In the final #4 Fleisher beat #14 Bremark 147-133.
